Trailers stage Burnley Festive Switch-On

Thousands braved the cold weather for the annual Christmas lights switch on ceremony on Sunday 19th November 2017, part of the two-day Burnley Christmas Festival, which included an Ice Sculpture Trail and Light Parade.  Local singer and musician Lucas Watt performed a live set and talented Burnley Youth Theatre actors performed a series of festive sketches, stories and songs throughout the afternoon inviting members of the crowd to get up on stage to take part in ’12 Days of Christmas’. It’s My Party delivered an all-singing, all-dancing spectacular switch on show, featuring magical songs, dancing, pyrotechnics before Burnley town centre’s Christmas Lights were switched on and marked by an amazing firework display. Local logistics company Fagan & Whalley provided two trailers that were skillfully placed side by side at the top end of St James’ Street of to create a stage for the performers.

Martyn Richardson: Fagan & Whalley’s Compliance Manager, who drove one of the trucks said: “It was a bit of a tight squeeze to get the trailers into position, especially with the Christmas lights draped between the buildings that gave us a height restriction, but it is type of challenge that Fagan & Whalley like and we are glad that the afternoon was successful.”

Catherine Price: Burnley & Padiham Town Centre Manager, commented: “Over 2000 people saw the show and the lights being switched on that made it a great event for Burnley.  We couldn’t have done it without the fantastic Fagan & Whalley trailer stage!”
