At Fagan & Whalley, we’re incredibly proud of our heritage and the vibrant community which surrounds us here in Burnley, Lancashire – a town which has played a vital role in helping the company become what it is today.
As well as the pride we feel for the community spirit and atmosphere of support here in Burnley, we also value the work of local, national and international charities in equal measure. That’s why, along with regularly supporting community interest schemes in the local area, we are equally committed in contributing to charitable, environmental and community improvement causes which exist beyond Burnley, beyond Lancashire, and even beyond the UK.
Supporting Local Enterprise with Burnley Bondholders
Burnley Bondholders is a consortium of local businesses that are passionate about the benefits of being based in Burnley, invested in the town’s development, and dedicated to raising the profile and promoting the enterprising potential of the area.
As corporate partners of the Burnley Bondholders organisation, and as part of our commitment to the cause, we’ve incorporated two Burnley Bondholders liveried trailers into our fleet. These trailers will be seen in towns and cities up and down the country, and are designed to help with marketing the town and promoting its strong enterprising network.
Transaid’s Campaign for Safer Roads Overseas
Founded by Save the Children and The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Transaid is a unique charity which prioritises road and transport safety, working alongside partnering organisations and governments to solve transport challenges in economically developing countries.
Having worked closely alongside the charity for a number of years, donating an ambulance bike and taking part in a number of charitable endurance events to raise money for their cause, we’ve recently made the decision to increase our involvement and become Gold Donors.
Blackburn Youth Zone Patrons
Blackburn Youth Zone exists to help young people in the area achieve a bright future by promoting cohesion, encouraging aspirations through a commitment to the development of skills and personal and professional growth, and making continual investments into their general health and mental wellbeing.
As of autumn 2020, we are honoured in becoming a proud patron supporter of the Blackburn Youth Zone, with the important work they do providing fundamental foundations to support a stronger community initiative for future generations.
Regular Fundraising for Pendleside Hospice
Pendleside Hospice exists to enhance the quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and their carers, by providing specialist and holistic palliative care services.
As a charity that has touched the lives of many in the local community, some members of the F&W team included, we’re pleased to organise fundraising events on a regular basis to support their cause.
Supporting the Community in South Wales
Velindre is recognised as The Hospital Of Hope and a leading provider of radiotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments in Wales.
Since our acquisition of Alan R Jones in 2021, the team at our Newport depot have continued to support and raise vital funds, allowing the charity to continue its imperative work within the local community and improving the experience of patients receiving care at the Velindre Cancer Hospital.
