Following a period of growth, we were pleased to announce the expansion of our warehousing and cross-dock operations last year with the acquisition of an additional site at Frontier Park, Blackburn.
Having spent 12 months developing the new site in accordance with our needs, we are excited to be able to share the news that the site is now officially open and fully integrated into the Fagan & Whalley operation!
Set within the new development at Frontier Park, the new depot comprises over 200,000 sq. ft. of warehousing and distribution capacity. The acquisition is part of a wider business plan to expand the services we offer, just over four years after the opening of our dedicated warehousing facility at Burnley Bridge.
“Our team has been exceptionally busy over the last 12 months in preparation for our expansion into the new site, and we’re all incredibly excited to now be able to officially open the doors and see it all up and running as part of our UK-wide distribution network,” says F&W Business Strategy Director, Sam Fagan.

“Our Burnley Bridge warehouse was built to our own specifications back in 2017, and we’ve been working hard to make sure the new site is well-suited to our requirements as well. We’ve been dedicating a lot of time to customising the space to suit our own needs, and the needs of our clients, with the installation of 17,000 new pallet spaces.
“We’ve strengthened our partnership with Linde who have provided almost 20 pieces of MHE, ranging from counterbalance to VNA trucks, all with added safety features, which arrived on site just before we officially opened, allowing our teams to make a start on relocating stock within the warehouse in preparation for the site’s launch.
“This new site was brought into our network at the beginning of 2021, and even before it became fully operational, it already afforded us the capacity to welcome on board additional clients. It’s a point of pride for us to be able to look back over the last four years and see how much the warehousing side of our business has grown, especially considering how turbulent things have been for our industry over the last couple of years.
“With demand for warehousing and distribution services ever increasing, we’ve been encouraged to review our operations once more, and have now relocated the busy freight consolidation and distribution services that were operating out of our Padiham depot to the new Blackburn site.
“The aim with this move will be to further streamline our operations, with our Padiham depot serving solely as a transport depot for full-load consignments, and Frontier Park incorporating our cross-dock operations to facilitate freight consolidation for part-loads and groupage consignments.

“We’re pleased to say that the move has gone smoothly, and we’re looking forward to the new opportunities that will be afforded as a result of our new site at Frontier Park now officially being open!”
