It’s been an exciting few weeks for our friends over at Alan R Jones & Sons. Having joined a network of over 60 haulage companies across the UK, we’re proud to announce that they are the latest members of The Transport Association!
Founded in 1955, The Transport Association, provides a network of professional transport, storage and distribution services to retailers and manufacturers across the UK and Europe – and consists of over 5,700 vehicles and 175 storage warehouses.
There are numerous practical benefits for haulage companies who join the association, such as the availability of safe HGV parking throughout the UK and improved driver well-being via access to shower and truckstop amenities.
This support is highly valued in the haulage industry, as a survey conducted in 2021 found that more than half of respondents rated parking spaces for lorries as being ‘fairly poor’ or ‘very poor’. More recently, a lack of roadside facilities for haulage drivers was identified as a significant reason for the increasing global driver shortages across the UK – emphasising just how vital the support of The Transport Association is.
In addition to increased driver facilities and parking spaces, The Transport Association also provides haulage companies with a powerful opportunity to connect and collaborate with other businesses within the industry. Members are invited to meet twice a month, in order to network, share industry information and resources, and connect with one another.
