What our brcgs accreditation means to us

What our BRCGS Certification means to us

At Fagan & Whalley, our nationwide reputation as a trusted logistics partner didn’t happen by chance. Instead, it’s a direct result of our continuous commitment to excellence. One testament to this dedication is our wide range of industry-recognised certifications, including the BRCGS.

When we proudly announced that both Burnley Bridge and Frontier Park had achieved our AA-grade BRCGS Certification last year, it was more than just a badge of honour for us. This milestone served as a profound reminder of the ongoing dedication we put into our operations and the shared vision of excellence we uphold.

Let’s revisit what the BRCGS means for us…

What is the BRCGS (BRC?)

The British Retail Consortium Global Standard (BRCGS), formerly known as the BRC, sets the international standard for food safety. Used by over 26,000 suppliers across 130 countries, the strict guidelines offer protection for manufacturers and end consumers alike by avoiding cross-contamination between food products and ensuring safe storage and distribution.

What the BRCGS Certification means to us:

At Fagan & Whalley, we partner with numerous brands in the food and drinks industry. Whether it’s chocolates, soft drinks, or any product in between, our warehousing and distribution circuits are designed to give our clients the utmost confidence in the safety and integrity of their products.

Fagan & Whalley’s Head of Compliance, Martyn Richardson, explains further, “In the food and drinks industry, where a minor lapse in standards could lead to potentially devastating repercussions and consequences for food manufacturers and consumers, our commitment to quality isn’t just a choice – but an imperative.”

“For us, the BRCGS Certification reflects the hard work, dedication and meticulous planning that goes into ensuring every product within our network reaches its destination with its integrity and quality in-tact.”

“Additionally, it’s a huge benefit to our clients that every product entering the F&W network is entirely traceable. This means we’re quickly able to keep them updated with stock and distribution figures – and in the unfortunate case of product recalls, we can act quickly to protect the end-consumer.”

“Crucially, we’re continuously learning, adapting, and growing here at Fagan & Whalley,” continues Martyn, “And the fact that we have the highest possible grade in our BRCGS Certification demonstrates that we’re always looking to surpass expectations. For us, compliance isn’t just about upholding our reputation or a tickbox exercise – it’s a guarantee to our partners that we deliver excellence every step of the way.”

What are the benefits to our customers?

If you operate within the food and beverages sector, there are numerous benefits to ensuring your logistics partner is BRCGS (BRC) Certified.

Let’s take a look:

  • Risk reduction

The strict guidelines of the BRCGS minimise the chances of product contamination or mishandling, reducing potential liabilities and unexpected costs. And as Martyn explained previously, in the event of any product recalls, all of our batches are entirely traceable.

  • Global Recognition

By partnering with us, you may find it easier to engage in global markets and gain trust from international partners because of the widely respected and recognised AA-grade BRCGS certification.

  • Peace of Mind

With Fagan & Whalley, you can have peace of mind knowing your food goods are in the hands of a provider that has demonstrated a commitment to surpassing industry standards.

  • Consistent quality and guaranteed safety

The certification should reassure our clients that we maintain consistent quality throughout operations, ensuring the integrity of your goods from start to finish.
