Sam, a third-year student at Huddersfield University, currently on his gap year and working at the family business Fagan & Whalley Ltd of Padiham, was undeniably delighted at the announcement as he was up against graduates and post-graduates from other universities in the NW. Unfortunately Sam was not able to enjoy the whole of the evening’s festivities as he rushed off on a pre-planned holiday, catching a plane to Venice from Manchester Airport the same day.
