Chelmer Foods Ltd are one of the largest importers of dried fruits, seeds, nuts, and pulses in the UK. The company was established in 1992 and witnessed significant expansion after merging with Flagship Fruit & Nut Ltd in 2010. Consequently, the team have earned a reputation as a dependable supplier to major retailers, manufacturers, and individual consumers throughout the country.
This award-winning company had found themselves frustrated with the limited distribution coverage and storage capacity of their previous haulage and storage provider, who were struggling to handle Chelmer Foods’ growing needs. As a result, by 2018, they were on the hunt for a North West-based partner to fulfil their requirements.
Solution
We began collaborating with Chelmer Foods Ltd in 2018, and have been privileged enough to provide AA-grade BRCGS certified (BRC) warehousing for their products, alongside tailored delivery solutions throughout the UK, ever since.
We provide an entirely bespoke solution for Chelmer Foods Ltd, storing and distributing their products directly from our cutting edge facility at Frontier Park, in Blackburn. By doing so, they have been able to expand their customer base in the North West with confidence, securing some great Manchester-based clients.
Our partnership also extends to their primary facility in Chatteris, where we distribute their products directly to retail outlets nationwide. As well as this, we’ve created a bespoke transport solution for Chelmer Foods, by acquiring skeletal trailers to efficiently oversee the transportation of goods from Liverpool docks to our Blackburn warehouse.
Moreover, to enhance their daily operations, Chelmer Foods purchased one of our reliable Fagan & Whalley vehicles in 2021 to move trailers around their Chatteris facility. This initiative has significantly improved their operational efficiency.
